The honest answer first: there’s no single Google-like search for the entire Fediverse — that’s by design, since it’s decentralized. But here are the best tools that get close:

For PeerTube videos specifically:

  • sepiasearch.org — the official cross-instance PeerTube search engine. It indexes public videos from as many PeerTube servers as possible, but removes problematic servers when reported. Widest coverage for video.
  • peerseek.video — searches videos across hundreds of federated PeerTube instances, with filters by category, language, or instance. No account required.
  • fedi.video — highlights interesting videos from across the whole PeerTube network using an allowlist system that screens out bad content.

For Mastodon posts and accounts:

  • Search from within your own Mastodon account — the built-in search lets you find accounts (@user@instance) and hashtags across the Fediverse. It’s the most direct method.
  • fediverse.observer — lets you find instances across the whole Fediverse by filters.
  • fedi.directory — lists interesting accounts from across the Fediverse and has a section for good PeerTube accounts. The list randomizes each time the page loads to give accounts equal visibility.

The real limitation to understand:

Each application and server that participates in the Fediverse is largely independent when it comes to discovery. A real user search across the whole network is not easily possible — the search and discovery experience is usually limited to content from the instance a user is on. This is actively being worked on (the Fediscovery project), but it’s not solved yet.

Practical tip: The fastest way to search “everything” is to use Sepia Search for videos + your Mastodon search bar for accounts and posts. Between those two, you cover most of what’s publicly reachable.

Aquí te explico el camino más directo, paso a paso:Los 4 pasos concretos:

1. Encontrá instancias de PeerTube Entrá a fedidb.org y filtrá por “PeerTube” — te muestra todas las instancias activas ordenadas por usuarios. También podés ir a joinpeertube.org y en los filtros elegir mostrar “todas” (no solo las moderadas). Desde ahí podés navegar cualquier instancia directamente en el navegador, sin cuenta.

2. Creá tu cuenta en el Fediverso No necesitás cuenta en PeerTube para seguir canales. Registrate en lemmy.world (o cualquier instancia de Lemmy) — es gratis y toma 2 minutos. También funciona Mastodon si preferís algo más tipo Twitter.

3. Seguí un canal de PeerTube Desde la barra de búsqueda de Lemmy o Mastodon, escribís el identificador del canal en formato @nombrecanal@servidorpeertube.com. Por ejemplo: @nombrecanal@videos.icum.to. Le das seguir y listo.

4. Recibís el contenido en tu feed Cada vez que ese canal suba un video, te aparece automáticamente en tu inicio. Sin algoritmo, sin que ningún buscador filtre qué podés ver.

Para descubrir canales nuevos sin buscadores, suscribite en Lemmy a comunidades como !peertube@lemmy.world — otros usuarios comparten videos de todo el Fediverso ahí.
